I went to Austin. ¡Por Fin!
My friends and I left Houston at approximately 5:30 a.m. It was painful, but worth it. Side Note: Funny how I can wake up at 4:30 a.m. to go to ATX but find it impossible to wake up at 6:30 a.m. for work.
The highlight of the trip was Lost Creek. Which, ironically, was also the most dangerous part of the trip. You see, what had happened was, we walked what seemed like an eternity to get to the actual creek. Once there, we spent the entire afternoon sitting on stones, walking through painful piles of rocks, and, my favorite, swinging from a rope to splash into the shallow water. I'm pretty sure that's how we all got hurt. Of course, due to the consumption of alcohol, we didn't feel or notice anything until we were back at the hotel.
OH, and let's not forget the crazy walk back to the car. I was prepared to collapse from heat exhaustion, but I survived thanks to my ambition.
Reported Injuries:
- Swollen/Sprained middle finger
- Lower back pains
- Cuts and scrapes
- Swollen and Infected foot
One individual had to have surgery due to the tiny rock that created a home for itself inside of her foot. BUT she's okay now; fully stocked with pain meds!
She was so full of life.
Despite the tragedies, it was a splendid weekend! We'll have to do this again sometime; preferably with water shoes.
